As an Application Developer Lead, you will be lead a RAD team that provides high quality technology solutions by developing application components for the critical & urgent needs of the Trading & Operations community within the Securities Lending business. You will be responsible for the analysis, development, testing, and QA support of assigned tools in a rapid delivery focused environment. You will work closely with a Technology Delivery Manager to report development status, identify project issues and offer workable solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that your deliverables are of high-quality, fully functional, readable, maintainable, and fulfills the pre-defined business requirements.
* The Tech Lead will be responsible to lead a mix of FTE and consultants towards the goal of providing Rapid Application Technology support to the Securities Operations and Trader community.
* Responsibility includes analysis of the requirements for new RAD software with a view to ensuring that the request is indeed valid as a RAD unit or could be satisfied with the larger tech architecture.
* Responsibility includes helping create a framework to bring together other existing critical UDTs (User Defined Tools) and allow for better management and control of these tools.
* The Tech Lead will be responsible for compliance to the WSS Project Delivery Framework.

Requirements |
Required:
* A Technology Lead / Manager with demonstrably excellent project & team management skills
* Desire to work in an exciting business focused environment where he/she can influence the future success of the group
* Database querying skills are critical to the success of this project.
* Somebody who is delivery-focused with a proven track record
* A minimum of six years experience working within IT in the finance sector preferably having a good understanding of securities trading & processing, preferably in a Rapid Application Development.
* Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access Technology.
* Excellent skills in Project Planning; Budgeting; Risk & Issue Management; Change Management Skills; Exposure to software development methodologies (RUP, Waterfall, RAD etc)
* Excellent written and verbal communication; Good interpersonal skills
* Solid technical background - either from Development or Systems Analysis
* A willingness to travel to Bournemouth, London, Dallas and/or Sydney should a project require this
Desired Skills:
* Experience and skills in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Oracle, Websphere, .NET
* Experience managing out-sourced/vendor based developments, or a geographically dispersed project team
* Working knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model Integrated, preferably familiar with Level 2/3.
* Experience of any of the following: Securities Lending, Collateral Management, Clearance
