The number of Hispanic board members in Corporate America
is rising but the rate of increase is too modest to
achieve full Hispanic inclusion within the next 10 to
20 years, according to the 2001 HACR Corporate
Governance Study.
The SBSC called for looser
immigration policy saying, "The reality is that
immigrant workers -- legal and illegal -- are filling
vital roles in the economy, and many small businesses
simply can't survive without them."
Mexico and the United States will continue
talks on a deal for Mexican migrants and illegal
residents this month, after the issue was put on hold
following the Sept. 11 attacks.
